In spite of the trickle of international tourists, Vukani Museum remains a vibrant institution which stays involved with its community and the South African museum world, and stretches its hand overseas.

  • We were delighted to have another visit from Elizabeth Perrill,  whose marvellous book on Zulu pottery, “Ukucwebezela: to shine”, formed  part of her doctoral thesis. Read More
  • A most unusual request came from Georgia State University; they had six doctoral students and their lecturer who were going to be in the country studying ethno-mathematics. Read More
  • Well, we have just dismounted the Jabulisa 2010 Travelling Exhibition of the best art work in KZN over the last four years. Read More
  • Vivienne Garside has been invited to return to Borneo to bring Zulu beadworkers to the International Bead Conference in Miri in October. Read More
  • Three members of staff are currently studying for the Commonwealth Association of Museums course.
  • The museum also is involved with joint projects at the Museum Village, such as the new exhibition hall and the celebrations for Heritage Day in September.
